Pressure Canner Testing

Pressure-canner imageDon’t forget to have the dial gauge on your pressure canner tested.  It is recommended to have this gauge tested every year. It’s also a good idea to review the publication “Using & Caring for a Pressure Canner” publication by the University of Wisconsin-Extension.

Extension Sauk County can test your pressure canner on-site or we offer a list of canning resources where you can learn about where to have your canner tested.

How to schedule a pressure canner test: Call Extension Sauk County’s main office at (608) 355-3250 to arrange a time for your equipment to be tested. Best case we ask that you bring in your lid, gauge, seal(s) and pot so that we can check everything over prior to your canning season. We will still test if you are only able to provide the lid and gauge.
